When a Person Dies At Home Or In A Nursing Home
When a person dies at home, the Doctor should be contacted. As soon as the Doctor is available, a house visit would normally be made and if the death was expected, the relatives will be issued with The Medical Certificate of Cause of Death in due course.
The Doctor will give permission for you to contact your nominated Funeral Director so that the deceased can be taken into their care and action be taken in accordance with your wishes.
If the death occurs in a Nursing or Residential Home, a member of the Nursing Staff will contact your nominated Funeral Director on your behalf to arrange for them to convey the deceased to their Private Chapel of Rest, acting in accordance with your wishes.
