Welcome to Denise Wellington Funeral Services, an Independent, family owned, funeral directors in Bude, Cornwall.
Both Denise and Daryl Wellington were born in Bude, went to school in Bude and have been involved with the Community of Bude and surrounding areas in many ways throughout our lives. During this time, we have become well known and trusted members of our local community.
The Wellington Family have a tradition of involvement within local clubs, groups, charities and various organisations, with Daryl’s Dad Lester being a founder member of the very first Surf Life Saving Club to be formed in the UK back in 1953 and his Mum Vera setting up the very first Private and Independent Nursing Care Home in Bude back in 1961.
Denise’s Dad Michael Hicks, has lived in the Bude area all of his life and worked locally in this time as a tradesman in the building business. In more recent years he has worked within the funeral business in various capacities and assisted Daryl & Denise whenever possible. His Wife Jennifer has also provided unconditional support over many years.
We have a natural desire to be there for others when needed, and now have the valued support of our two sons, Harry & Jack. We are both very proud that our eldest Son Harry works alongside us with the day to day running of the business, and our youngest Son Jack is also involved providing valuable help and support.
We also pride ourselves on providing a caring, compassionate and empathic service. With over 30 years collective experience in the funeral profession during which time Denise has successfully gained her Diploma in Funeral Directing, we have a genuine knowledge and understanding how to support bereaved families at their time of need.
“We have a simple philosophy, to offer immediate care and support following the death of a loved one and to be there for family and friends after the funeral”.
Our premises on the outskirts of Bude provides a naturally tranquil, comforting and spacious setting to discuss any aspect of your loved ones funeral, or simply to pop in for an informal chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
“As funeral directors, we see it as our privilege and honour, to be entrusted, and involved with families at such a difficult time, knowing we can provide them with the appropriate guidance and advice whilst providing a commitment to maintaining the highest of professional standards on their behalf”.
